Less lecturing, more wondering!

What if history is not just about where we came from, but about where we are going? Learning about history and other cultures helps us notice diversity—and see our own society from a fresh perspective. Culture is like air, or water to a fish. When we live inside it, we rarely notice it. It is often only through encountering different cultures that we begin to recognize what we have always taken for granted. I am a dialogue-based guide who values humor, curiosity, and a warm smile. Rather than offering one-sided explanations, I create spaces for conversation—where questions are welcomed and discoveries are shared. My approach is grounded not only in philosophy, but in solid training and experience. I hold a BA in Japanese History and an MA in TESOL, earned in the United States, and I lived in California for six years. I have completed archaeological training in Asuka and am certified as an official heritage guide for the Asuka area. I have guided a large number of FIT travelers in Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka, consistently receiving high evaluations for both content and communication. Through this work, I have built strong relationships with travel agents who trust me to deliver thoughtful, reliable, and engaging experiences. I also maintain close relationships with local restaurants, farmers, activity providers, as well as local governments and tourism associations. These connections allow me to design tours that support the local economy while remaining deeply rooted in the community. I believe meaningful travel should contribute to the places it touches—economically, culturally, and socially—creating value for both visitors and local communities.

▪ Nature-Based Experiences

– Gentle, mindful interaction with wild plants and trees
– Experiences designed to engage all five senses and encourage presence in nature
▪ Cultural Experiences

For me, guiding is not about delivering answers. It is about sharing questions, stories, and moments of awareness— and leaving travelers not only informed, but gently changed.
