We Discover the Charm of Asuka–Fujiwara — Fun and Easy to Understand

Born and raised in Nara, Asuka Village is my father’s hometown and has always felt like a second home to me.
After working as a nursery teacher, I devoted myself to creating theatrical performances that both children and adults could enjoy together. However, our activities were put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During that time, as I wandered through my local surroundings, I began to see the quiet landscapes in a new light. I was deeply moved by the profound history hidden within everyday scenery and by the generations of people who have carefully preserved and passed it down. This experience inspired me to become a guide.
The Asuka–Fujiwara region is the birthplace of the Japanese nation — the very heart of Japan’s origins.
Here, the dramatic stories of state-building coexist with peaceful rural landscapes, creating a place unlike any other.
I would be delighted to explore this unique and inspiring region together with you — making its rich history enjoyable and easy to understand along the way.

Recommended spots in Asuka
Iwafune in Masuda! No matter how many times I visit, I’m always astonished by the sheer presence of this massive rock that suddenly appears in the mountains. There’s a strong theory that it’s a failed stone sarcophagus for a burial mound prepared for Empress Saimei, an Asuka period empress, but what is the truth? This boulder in the mountains is a joy to imagine.
