Women Empowerment Story
A Private Audience & Formal Shrine Ritual with a Female Shinto Priest
What guests experience in Asuka is not a historical explanation, but a living ritual. At 飛鳥坐神社, a female Shinto priest personally attends the visit. Rather than hearing interpretations from an external guide, guests receive insights directly from the ritual practitioner herself — the meaning behind the prayer gestures, the resonance of the norito (sacred prayers), and the intention embedded in each movement. This is not a performance arranged for tourists. Precisely for that reason, the atmosphere carries a quiet intensity and a profound sense of order. What remains after the ceremony is not merely the memory of having “seen,” but the tangible feeling of having passed through something sacred. Participation is limited to small groups and arranged by prior consultation only. An exclusive program available only through selected travel partners — an experience uniquely possible in Asuka.
