Inabuchi Rice Terraces are registered as a scenic asset of Nara Prefecture and have been selected as one of Japan’s top 100 rice terraces. The rice terraces of Inabuchi, which were cultivated during the Middle Ages (Heian to Muromachi period), are part of the beautiful historical landscape of Asuka Village. In addition, in autumn, cluster amaryllis blooms turn the banks of the rice terraces bright red, attracting many tourists. The scarecrow contest held every year with a theme and jumbo scarecrows will entertain travelers.
